Water Quality Sampling

Several agencies throughout the Las Vegas Valley conduct water quality sampling on the Las Vegas Wash and Lake Mead. There are varying reasons for sampling in these areas. Some agencies sample to meet the requirements of their NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permits, while others sample to meet EPA drinking water standards.

Coordinated efforts to sample the Wash and Lake Mead include many agencies, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Geological Survey, Clark County Regional Flood Control District, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, Clark County Water Reclamation District, Southern Nevada Water Authority and Las Vegas Wash Coordination Committee.
