Watch Our Wetlands Grow

In order for wetland restoration and enhancement activities to be successful in the Las Vegas Wash, erosion must be controlled. In 1999, Lake Las Vegas Resort and the Southern Nevada Water Authority teamed up to install the Demonstration Weir erosion control structure. This structure is located 1.7 miles down stream from the Historic Lateral site. Video and aerial photos were taken from the same vantage over several months to show a “time lapse” view of the wetlands' restoration. Please visit the Video and Aerial/Satellite Photos sections to view these “time lapse” images. Also check out the Take a Tour section to get up close and into the wetlands.
