Photo Comparison

In March of 2000, the Las Vegas Wash Team began a pictorial history of the Las Vegas Wash and Las Vegas Bay to show changes over time. Over 200 photographs are taken every six months (March and September) at 20 sites. Using a GPS (Global Positioning System) and compass, the photographs are taken from the same vantage point so a comparison can be made.

Below is one example of the differences between the wet (summer) and dry (winter) seasons that the Las Vegas Valley experiences.

These two photos show the seasonal change of the wetlands at Lake Las Vegas.
The top photo was shot in March 2000, and the bottom photo was shot in September 2000.
