Photo Comparison
In March
of 2000, the Las Vegas Wash Team began a pictorial history of
the Las Vegas Wash and Las Vegas Bay to show changes over time.
Over 200 photographs are taken every six months (March and September)
at 20 sites. Using a GPS (Global Positioning System) and compass,
the photographs are taken from the same vantage point so a comparison
can be made.
Below
is one example of the differences between the wet (summer) and
dry (winter) seasons that the Las Vegas Valley experiences.

These
two photos show the seasonal change of the wetlands at Lake Las
Vegas.
The top photo was shot in March 2000, and the bottom photo was
shot in September 2000.
